Bravado! Designs was founded about 20 years ago in Canada when two new mums recognised the need for comfortable yet fashionable nursing bras. Frustrated with the choice on maternity and nursing underwear available to them, they pinned some ideas together on their kitchen table: Voila -the first Bravado bra was born - a statement piece in bold Leopard Print.

The demand for Bravado bras grew quickly through word-of-mouth recommendation, especially as Lactation Consultants, Midwives and Childbirth Educators picked up on the fact that the products did not only give the wearer comfort unlike any they had experienced before (nursing bra or not), as well as they didn't look like they came out of Grandma's knickers drawers, but they also promote optimal breast health through the main design detail, flexible sizing.

Flexible sizing was invented with the changing body shape of a pregnant or nursing woman in mind. It is not uncommon for nursing mums to fluctuate between two cup sizes throughout the day and Bravado's bras allow for these changes comfortably, which means that the bra will never feel tight or constrict her in any way. This design detail is also favourable for the retailer, as their stock holding is kept to a minimum.

Today, all of Bravado's products are developed with the input of Lactation Consultants and Midwives before they are wear tested, washed, wear tested and washed some more by actual mums. Once they approve the new products and are certain that they will be a valuable addition to a pregnant or nursing woman's wardrobe, they become part of Bravado's award-winning collection.
